This exciting, action-packed episode takes place in the 3D2Y reunion at Saobody Archipalego. One Piece fan letter is such a beautiful homage to the fans of One Piece. There's something to admire about all the pirates, which is displayed in the show through the many different everyday characters who are also admiring the One Piece crew. From our lovely protagonist who admires Nami, the marines who debate who is the best swordsman, the store owner who loves brook, the brother who admires Luffy, etc., all of them create a slice of life in the One Piece world. Best of all is the unexpected ending. We all want to see her meet Nami and the ending provides a fun twist that is so real about what it means to embody the inspiration of your heroes and how we are able to support them as fans. Usopp and Nami are arguably the most "human" of the crew, so it's very smart that they chose this character to follow. They don't have any special abilities but make their way through with wits and intelligence. This episode put Megumi Ishitani on my radar as a director to watch. I'll be looking forward to seeing more of the episodes she'll direct in the anime.

So. I’m not a One Piece fan. It’s a cultural touchstone I vaguely plan to touch because it’s so influential, but besides the length, there’s Oda’s relationship with Watsuki, the largely terrible female designs, and Bonney’s everything. Do like it’s a vague ‘maybe one day’ that’ll only actually happen if a friend drags me to actually read or watch it. So I’m not exactly the target audience here. That said, this still hits. It’s a cute, sweet tale about the power of stories and how everyone matters with some great animation. I imagine for fans this must completely melt the heart. For non fans, it’s short and quality enough to stand on its own and be worth checking out.

For me, if all One Piece filler was like this, it would even be enjoyable to watch. that this is pure art
