the amount of video documentation is crazyyy! this is crazy! in this day and age, the fact that mormons still exist is crazy! & very scary… if tolga & christine weren’t there, i don’t even know how long this would’ve continued on because we all know the police is incompetent as shit. also i don’t even wanna know how many of these cults exist rn that we aren’t aware of yet.
At times the documentary seems a bit slow but has enough pace to keep watching it. It seems more realistic because these cases take time. Christine and Tolga deserve a medal for their commitment, courage and perseverance. It can only imagine how it feels like when you’re doing the right thing for them, but they don’t see it that way. The documentary felt personal to watch. It’s horrendous what Samuel Bateman did while (ab)using faith for his own endgame. I hope the “wives” live a wonderful life after all that.
This serves as a follow up of sorts to Keep Sweet: Pray & Obey. I had no idea another snake found its way into this religion to prey upon more young, innocent, and uneducated girls. Though overall, I feel like we dont hear enough from the actual victims and people apart of the FDLS but more the documentary couple. I understand maybe those actually involved didn't want to speak. But we shouldn't be monetizing others trauma and exploiting them for someone else to tell their stories.
