### **“Slow Burn, Cozy, and Somehow Perfect”** I rarely get hooked on contract marriages or co‑living dramas and never watched a revolutionary era drama, but **this one takes the cake**. That tiny little room—they changed from bunk beds to partitions and then none over 29 episodes, and it **perfectly mirrored Fei Ni and Fang Mu Yang’s relationship** as it grew from awkward and forced to warm and natural. Fei Ni started the relationship for practical reasons, but she **grew with Mu Yang**, who was wild and carefree at first but became reliable and patient. I can’t stop thinking about that line he said: *“Sometimes to go north, we have to go west, east, and south first. Bear with the detours and we’ll get there slowly and steadily.”* That’s basically their entire journey summed up, and it hits. Qu Hua and Fang Mu Jing started off selfish too, but their growth was even more satisfying. At first, I skipped their scenes, but **by the end they became my favorite couple**—they’re a beautiful example of two people learning to love each other through mistakes. The supporting characters are memorable too: Feng Lin was annoying but comical, and her comeuppance felt deserved. The Lin family was selfish at first, but Fei Ting and Lin Mei’s soft hearts slowly softened everyone. Even the city feels alive—the 1970s setting looks **quiet, scenic, and nostalgic**, making the story feel warm and lived-in.And the moments—the little sketches, the cinematography, the tiny gestures—they all build up to **tear‑jerking payoffs**: Fei Ni finally getting into college, Mu Yang’s quiet support, the family reconciliation, and that tiny, playful moment where she makes him recite the Pythagorean theorem before just falling asleep—pure gold. Honestly, **this show just warms you up from start to finish**. Slow, steady, heartfelt—it’s a reminder that love, growth, and family are earned, and the journey is just as beautiful as the destination.
