That entrance. That silent applause. That chilling stare as he emerges from the shadows. That slow, terrifying approach to the stage. The laugh. The speech. The calm composure. The quiet confidence. The way he intimidates without seeming to try. Javier Bardem, ladies and gentlemen. Absolute masterclass. 👌
In the original 1962 Cape Fear film, the famous "fingers and toes" line is spoken by the character Sam Bowden (played by Gregory Peck). When discussing the kind of psychological and physical torture Max Cady (Robert Mitchum) is known for, Bowden describes a method of slow, agonizing mutilation:"They take a finger one day, and a toe the next."
I mean I knew I had to watch this because of Amy Adams but this was a great premiere episode. Highly suspenseful and well acted.
Javier Bardem the actor that you are. 😮💨🏼
A really good opening episode. It has that sense of fear and dread right from the get go and bardem has cady nailed down to a tee. Only slight complaint is that Bardem doesn't have the southern accent that De Niro had in the 90's movie
