Apart from the messy explanation of all the supernatural elements, this anime is pretty good if you go in with an “anything is possible” mindset and stick it out until the end, where things do get wrapped up to some degree. It is based on a visual novel from Key (the studio behind Clannad), so if you know their works, the storytelling style is similar: emotional, bittersweet, but also filled with sweet moments. I liked all the characters and how they were portrayed, but I had to look some things up, especially after the last episode, since some parts were left vague and ambiguous. It turns out there is still additional story material from the VN that has not been adapted yet, which explains a lot more and properly ties things together. So if you feel like you are left with questions, you are not alone, since the anime does not cover the full VN. Hopefully we will get some OVA episodes to wrap it up, just like they did with Clannad.
