It’s basically a lifetime movie as a tv show. It’s just a series of the most unlikely things to happen
What a great show! Keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. One twist after another, whenever you think you got it figured out something new comes up. No slow parts, everything adds to the story. Absolutely recommended!
One thing I really liked about this show was that it "started" immediately. There was no build up or getting to know you period. The action starts immediately and you are right in the middle of it. The show also does a great job of job for the first 6 or so episodes of keeping the viewer guessing about what is really going on and who might actually be involved. Some characters show their flaws early on, but not enough that you know for sure that they are guilty. It really kept me guessing for a while. The actors all did a great job of playing their roles. The show does also have some commentary about modern day parenting, especially as it relates to the roles that mothers play vs. the roles that fathers play. It is a tiny bit heavy handed with it. At one point a character practically gives a monologue about it that sounds very Twitter / TikTok "online discourse-esque" and I think it would have been better if the show just showed us instead of explicitly telling us. But, that was a minor complaint of mine. I also do think that the ending could have been a little bit better, but overall, this was definitely a good miniseries.
Why doesn't people talk about this show, why do they talk about other advertised and Netflix ones. From the first episode i mention one thing, you have a mystery with a missing child and nothing is unique or original. The whole show will be judged by the twists, the why's and the how's. And boy did it delivered. It delivered marvellous, setting high standards. Lets talk about the production, the A list actors who did a fantastic job, Pena was amazina, trully amazing and Snook gave a great performance especially in the last 2 episodes. You thought you got the answers, then you didn't , then you thought that is the why but again a new twist came to make you wonder WTF! This tops many shows in 2025, many of that genre. Be patient do not abandon thinking it is just one of many. It will blow your mind with the story. A definitive must watch.
If not for Sarah Snook and Dakota Fanning, I wouldn’t have gotten through this show. It’s fine, but if there was anything else that caught my eye, I wouldn’t have finished it. The two husbands are such useless stereotypes that I actually laughed out loud at some of the things they said. And the twist at the end, ugh. M. Night Shyamalan has ruined modern tv writers, making them think “there must be a twist at the end to make it a good show.” Nope. Unnecessary twists are annoying. If the plot is good enough, we don’t need a sudden, “But wait there’s more!”
