I really don't get the high rating. It was the most boring war drama i'v ever slept through

A series that suffers from weak narrative connections, lack of context, and weak character relationships, with some wasted characters and a narrative choice that somewhat stalled the story. The acting is good; Jacob Elordi shines towards the end, and the older version of his character is also good, but I feel it could have been better. Even so, I appreciate the universal moral message. I should research the source material further as homework.
