An ambitious production that, however, doesn't reflect this ambition in its staging, and gets lost in a mixture of a soap opera and a thriller about Nazi hunters. It gives the impression that it tries to cover all the themes and characters in Almudena Grandes' novel, but this leads to an unbalanced narrative that is sometimes too slow and sometimes too hasty. But it offers adequate entertainment if taken as a romantic story surrounded by wars and dictatorships.

Fantastic show – the characters are well-developed, and it's an intelligent espionage series from the WW2 era.
