A sudden downpour keeps LUI waiting at the shopping mall where she, through-a casual conversation with a fortune teller, learns about the eventful future of her love affairs. She dismisses it with a laugh. In reality, LUI’s marriage is at the verge of breaking up because LUI and her husband FAN are mutually suspicious of each other. Under increasing pressure from his secretary - mistress to obtain a divorce, FAN vents his frustration on his wife until she leaves home in despair.

The couple is soon reconciled but FAN continues to indulge in his extra-marital ventures. He also keeps avoiding his one-time good friend FONG whom he owed money for some time. FONG needs the money desperately and follows FAN to his mistress place. A fierce argument ensues and FAN is seriously wounded.
