> Steamiest Lover Story (show) fissled by some mediocre characters First of all we should acknowledge the chemistry b/w the leads Kai & Tian is lit and they almost carry the show despite a madman [spoiler] aka childhood friend who can't let go [/spoiler] ruinning their story. Li Ni is laid back and smart general who only wishes to retire to humble desert & roast his mutton but he meets Capt.He aka [spoiler] Cui Lin [/spoiler] the most cunning , smart and beautiful lady in the dynasty & falls in love but still abhors ambition . This is where things start getting wrong between them as she tried to push for power he balances with a retreat & vice versa . They squabble , bicker , outsmart each other but when shit hits fan they rely on each other despite her adamantly making it his fault when her plans doesn't work or cross fire [spoiler] when he didn't want to be crown prince she pushed for it but when her father lost military when she tried to have both worlds she blamed him for taking it away [/spoiler] this make me hate her a little but she is no less than other bratty female leads in C-Drama who get away with most other things. Coming to the most annoying character there were two but one you can bear and the other will creep you out ; the stalker , the sadist and the madman Lei Chengfeng who thinks kidnapping and forcing marriage will somehow workout & tries to get the attention ; also the people who supported this madman in his quiet thought it was normal. The second annoying person was not really a threat at any point as she was morally not corrupted like her father but was ambitious more than love for CP. The King /Father and the two brothers are the most incompetent people in the palace no wonder the Li Family was almost wiped out by Sun Ling in the premise these backstabbing people deserved what they got ... The fights choreography was great with decent props and better execution that most of other show but the middle part gets boring predictable plot points and the madman getting away often with his tricks and desperation growing each time ; this made skip lost of scenes 25-35 epsiodes . Overall a show that evokes so many emotions that I could write such a long review should deserve a better plot in the middle and rating but alas it weren't to be as i struggle to justify any higher rating due to poor rewatchability but may be when i crave the steamy /hot chemistry which is seldom shown in C-Dramas with better plot points > I finish with the conservation that sold me to watch it Cui : Reward me i have done good job Li : Good Job ! Lets plan for 5 kids Cui: When did i agree for more kis Li : No Lets plan for 7 .. 4 sons and 3 daughters Cui : When is making more babies a reward 😾

Don't let the title fool you. While there is a love story involved, it is so much more than that. This drama also has war, court deception, hidden agendas and loss. Loved the chemistry of the main couple. If the actors ever do another show together, I'll be checking it out.
