The character development is really strong. But that's about the only above par thing about the story. That being said, some of the acting performances are great—David Tennant being the stand out. Just remember, if you hate the character, he's acting well.
This is a must watch. Really enjoyed it. Very 80s and so funny. Danny dyer was very good in this loved his character would highly recommend this TV show. After watching this TV show, I then went to listen to all the audiobooks. Can't recommend it enough
Excellent show, it started a bit off and quirky but once you got the rhythm of it, it was marvellous. Fantastic last 4 episodes and great finale. All actors were great, excellent story building and of course great music. Definitely should be continued.
Just left me feeling quite grossed out. It felt like it wanted to be Succession but turned into watching a middle aged man trying to nonce up a young woman. Rich people don't equal entertainment. There has to be decent plot. There was a strong opening from Episode 1, a chance for excellent character development and story arc. A chance of decent sociological commentary of the BBC and the TV industry circa 1980-90's. What we get instead is a disgusting montage of sex interspersed with boring stereotypical arguments over the sex. I have no problem with sex in tv or movies. But Jesus Christ. It gets old fast with this one. There are maybe 4 likeable characters and 3 of those in my case are almost extras. Just an incredibly disappointing waste of opportunity, creativity and budget.
How the hell did this poorly written nonsense get over 70%?
