I love this new brutal approach, very good indeed. This episode was dedicated to Kamar De Los Reyes because he passed away from cancer at 56 at 2023, he is the
vigilante White Tiger
A courtroom defense won't stop a knife in the dark. A closing argument can't break a criminal's grip. But justice isn't just words-it's action. So suit up, because when the law isn't enough, Daredevil will be there.
Much better episode with less CGI-looking fight sequences. Still feels like you need to have done your homework but the characters and show are starting to come into their own. Emdong scene of this episode is the best scene so far.
Interesting with the cops sporting Punisher tattoos. Very clear reference to the real life cops that Marvel have disapproved of.
Ok so there are a lot of good things but people have already talked about that, so I wanna mention the bad things only because the bad things here really pissed me off, and I just recently watched the Netflix show so the bad stuff here REALLY pissed me off. So: What's up with these D+ shows, why do they never look great? It's like there's a white smokey tint over every shot that makes everything look blurry and nothing looks distinct, the object blends too much with the background. It's like someone turned down the contrast slider on every single shot (If you don't know what's that, try editing an image in Lightroom and play with constrast slider, or decrease the blacks and increase the whiteness). Why is Marvel STILL allergic to contrast and showing colors? And what's the obsession with wide shots? I see what they were going for but making almost every single shot a super wide shot with the subject in the middle is NOT good cinematography. The difference between the camera work quality in this show and the Netflix one is super obvious. Why is marvel allergic to close ups. Lol. They should probably stop using this cinematic aspect ratio in their shows too, because they clearly don't know how to space things in the shot well enough to make that aspect ratio work. Visually, this show isn't even close to the Netflix one. I knew from the trailers that something looked off but I wanted the show to come out so I can be sure. Also, the CGI in the first fight scene of the first episode was super weird. Good fight choreography tho, but too bad you couldn't see anything because the whole scene had no contrast and super wide shots. (And night scenes were way worse, that fight was also during the night.) End of rant. My complains are only regarding the visuals, I liked everything else.
