Starts off pretty stupid with the white haired kids. The mom is so annoying with her paranoia. There’s something wrong with this show. It’s bad. It’s crap. Lasted 23 minutes into the first episode. When it starts off this lame, there is 0% chance it’s going to get any better. Can’t believe it got 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics are really idiots. ;)
[Disney+] It starts out as an intriguing story about some sort of cult led by a controlling guru, and the idea of showing the permanence of trauma is appealing. But slowly it becomes less and less exciting, it seems that it can't find a way to develop the story, making the characters make decisions in favor of the narrative instead of in a more organic way, which finally leads to the story by too languid a road. Although there are interesting episodes such as the flashback, it ends up being a more attractive proposal at the beginning than in its development.
Its slow yet very good ending! Also based on a real story? Sick people!
I’m not sure who a series like this is for. Kids getting kidnapped and raised by a cult-leader type paranoid woman for… reasons? Unsure what reasons, but I guess she’s insane. I made it through 2 or 3 episodes before I just gave up. None of the characters are likable, the show feels like a chore to watch, so I’ll watch something else.
Watched the first 2 episodes and started to fall asleep in the third episode. The first episode had something interesting to it all, but it was all very, very slow. The constant flashbacks were already getting annoying halfway through episode 1. On the positive side, it is quite easy at least to figure out when a flashback is going on. Less positive is the permanent freaking-out-mom-style of the main character. The whole semi religious freak show as a means of brainwashing is getting very old. Combine that with a pace that even BBC First usualy keeps higher, this series is.... just boring.
