Overall it's pretty good. Not a classic by any stretch of the imagination. Some scenes could be trimmed to speed it up a bit. Catering to the woke crowd.. there's an obvious and open (wouldn't happen in 1933) gay couple having spats in front of everybody. Think about it.. Hitler and the Nazi are killing/imprisoning gays and they are out there in the open. Please... if you're going authentic and doing a period piece, don't bring 21st century delusions into the storyline. 7/10

[Netflix] Try to give a less dramatic tone to a story that addresses the passivity of the US government with refugees fleeing Nazism. But the tone hurts it, making what it tells less credible, and the situations and characters too implausible. The effort to deal with some issues such as homosexuality from the current point of view is lost in an absurd presentism, and in the end there is a proposal with good intentions and a terrible result.

This is a fictional story with some tiny bits of historical facts mixed in. Would probably be great for some, but this is just not for me. The music is abominable, the scenes are unbalanced... I've never been more bored.

Disregard the incorrect language label - the show is in English, with a pinch of German and French dialogue with English subtitles.
