excellent show and sad it ended. can't recall a bad episode.
This is a story about the deeply flawed officer Deputy Police Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson. She transfers from Atlanta to LA to head up a special unit of the LAPD that handles sensitive, high-profile murder cases. The show doesn't try to hide her flaws. She is entitled, selfish, self righteous, brutal, arrogant and has a flawed sense of justice. She suffers no consequences for her actions. One thing I loved about her was that she doesn't try to change. The plot is semi-decent. It looks okay at first but not if you look closely. There is little to no character development for the central characters. The main highlight of the series is the comradery between the team. JK Simmons was really underutilized. He is still fantastic.
I just love this show so much! It’s one of those I watch over and over. The characters are just great and the cases are interesting and I never get bored with them. The episodes with Brenda’s parents are some of my favorites.
For the most part I liked the main characters. I found whilst binging the whole series that the mix of comedy and drama was perfect, which meant the stories didn't become monotonous nor too predictable. Also I only needed one hand to count the clunkers (these were the episodes I felt were written specifically for laughs)
