Undoubtedly, one of the best shows of the year so far and one of the great surprises. 🎬🌟. I’m eagerly awaiting the second season. 🎉
This is so awesome! It feels like the original from the nineties and looks amazing while doing it. Modern and nostalgic at the same time. The story goes hard, but also gets emotional and brutal at times. And most impressively, every time the tune comes along, it feels like I’m watching saturday morning cartoons again. That something special in itself.
Maybe I should of watched the original show first I didn’t get a lot of parts and just couldn’t get into it sometimes, but saying that I still enjoyed most of the show and the last two episodes were brilliant especially episode 9 and btw the theme has got to be one of the best I’ve ever seen badass asf.
There’s a lot of potential here. The cast does great, the animation is well crafted, and I respect it committing to the political side of things. That side is the most Intruiging. Character wise the only major arc I liked unequivocally without qualms is Storm’s. Baffling decisions sink the rest in a slew of soap opera decisions that make the eyes roll. The most interesting part of Scott’s and Jean’s story is removed along with Genosha way too soon, blunting its impact. The Magneto and Rogue retcon is baffling and hurts both characters when a happy Rogue and Gambit romance before the tragedy would’ve hit harder. Charles is a series of unearned platitudes that should not work on Magneto. And Jubilee is sidelined for the sake of a boring and inappropriately casted boy’s story instead, left with little interaction and involvement with the team, even Wolverine. Production wise it’s well made enough, but the characters fall apart under scrutiny.
Too soft and pg for me
