Wow, way better than the first season, great highlight on characters, great story.
Another great season for The Bear. Overall, I think I like this a little bit less than the first one, but the Christmas and Richie episodes are absolute fire! This show is so real and intense, I love it.
A phenomenal stepup from season 1. While plot still randomly generates a bit, the poignant moments hit harder and are more focused. The first episodes effectively establish a tense and intriguing timeline for the season and everything after the middle episode "Fishes" is spectacular. Richie's episode was a particular favorite and the finale was as fantastic as it was painful. I've found that The Bear is more about little moments of intense emotional richness than a perfect thread of interwoven story. The ensemble thrives in this second season as they've found stable footing and while the dialogue still hits funny in places, the vibes and purpose are so worth spending time in. Family dysfunction, coping with confusing feelings amidst stress, people capable of real love and devastating pain interweave in a season of tragic beauty.
