I’m not sure why I’ve never seen this movie before now but, wow, that was not a great movie. Pitt’s fake accent is so bad, it’s distracting. The story of this arrogant, narcissistic individual that is only ever redeemed in the last few minutes of the movie and to what end? Only to mould his son into a mini version of himself. Really not learning the lessons of Buddhism or the Dalai Lama.

I watched this film again after a long time not seeing it and for some reason I did not like it as much as I thought I did, when I saw it last. Maybe it's because I've read the book in the meantime...who knows. The story is impressive and amazing nevertheless but the movie itself is lacking in a lot of aspects. But still enjoyable to watch.

Decent movie, but it completely fails to tell the Tibetian story. It's true once again: the Hollywood narrative doesn't suit the novel.

I just love this movie that is based o a true story. The story is excellent, the visuals are epic, the characters are interesting and the acting is exceptional. Just entertainment at its best.
