I watched this on Amazon Prime. This is a beautiful train wreck of a movie. Kevin Spacey just gloriously chews up the scenery and script with gusto. Spacey and De Mornay save this movie from being unwatchable garbage. The movie has some great lines in it… One of my favorites is “Cigarettes are killers that travel in packs…” spoken by Peter (Spacey). And yes some of the acting and action is wildly over the top… laughably so… that at times… you just accept that it is the world that they are in. For an extra treat, if you watch it on Prime (I don’t know if it will be true on other services - your results may very) watch it with the subtitles on… the subtitles are ridiculously off at times… and I don’t know if that is because the actress Jet mumbles a lot or the sound mix is so bad that they could not tell what was being said… or that was what the script actually said before ADR. This deserves a spot on the pantheon of truly awful bad movies that are for some reason really fun to watch.

An interesting exploration of 50’s cinematic tropes made newish. Not that interesting, and not a vehicle signaling Spacey’s triumphant return from the wilderness. Why Kevin? Why?
