This movie just did not work for me.

The Drop (2022) is a perfectly fine straight-to-streaming watch. It has a few amusing moments and a premise that can spark some relatable awkward humor, but it never really elevates beyond that baseline. There’s a noticeable sense of familiarity throughout — like you’ve seen this type of movie (and these situations) play out before — and it doesn’t do much to separate itself from the pack. The comedy hits occasionally, but not consistently enough to leave a lasting impression. By the end, it’s one of those movies that works in the moment but fades pretty quickly afterward.
