Some funny moments and one mega adorable cat. But too many clichés for my taste. Goosfraba.
>"Liar, bullshitter, you're a WOMAN BEATER! And you can't admit it, because you're a deluded piece of garbage!" Like Meet The Parents, this movie frustrated me so much because I can feel Dave's (Sandler) pain. It has some pretty hilarious moments and Nicholson was the perfect choice for Dr. Buddy.
eh, out of all the 90s/2000s silly adam sandler movies, this one's a bit more serious and also a bit more "what the fuck did i just watch??". wish i watched happy gilmore for the 10th time instead
"Temper's the one thing you can't get rid of, by losing it." I scrolled by this movie a lot and always wondered what a movie starring Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson would be like. Today was the day I was ready to find that one out and it is something to say the least. First off, the cast? Pretty good. You got John Turturro, Luis Guzman, John C. Reilly, Marisa Tomei and Woody Harrelson all in small roles. I never expected to see them all in this one. You've got Adam Sandler being Adam Sandler and suppressing his anger. And then you have Jack Nicholson having fun. You get all these scenes set up between Adam Sandler and Woody Harrelson as Galaxia the prostitute, John Turturro being Sandler's anger buddy, John C. Reilly his bully that caused all the trauma and currently being a monk, fun scene and Marissa Tomei being the girlfriend who he doesn't want to lose. Jack Nicholson though is his anger management therapist and somehow, someway, we get a scene of both of them singing "I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story, best scene in the movie. Now that I'm writing all of this down, I had fun. I really had fun watching Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler together and I think this one is worth checking out just because of the cast and the combination of Sandler and Nicholson.
★★★☆☆ (3/5) The concept is fun, and Jack Nicholson clearly has a good time with the role. It’s uneven, some scenes are really funny, others drag but the chaotic energy keeps it entertaining. Not great, just solid early-2000s comedy.
