Peckinpah, Fukasaku, Woo. The greatest stager of violence in film. In fact I think you can pretty much draw a straight line through them. Though they did have their occasional misfires. Fukasaku was a master of camera placement, distance and focal length. Chaotic, absolutely chaotic , that is what Fukasaku’s films are like.
