Actually they did not just translate the german titles to english - that’s actually only what you did. English titles for the German „Name-trilogy“: They already started out with the pedal to the metal with full speed (or full of speed) imho with the first translation: „What about Adolf?“ - a little bit more in the face compared to „Der Vorname“ („The First Name“) as the original movie was called. The second movies eventually got the name „Family affairs“ … much tamer than something with „Hitler“ , „Goebbels“ or „Third Reich“ but again miles away from „Der Nachname“ („The Surname“). But I can tell you - even promise you won’t be disappointed: they saved the best for the rest and so we have one final installment to name… And with that….they finally lost it all…“get rid of original titles - just be creative with words“ must have been the work instruction for the advertisers and distributors so they went all in / bat-shit crazy this time for real and they finally lost it. They threw the original title „Der Spitzname“ („The nickname“) in the bin and and gave (creative) birth to the new and very inspired idea of „Weddings and Wokes: A Family Dilemma“ - rather „ Go woke and broke - A naming dilemma“ in my opinion!!!
