A live-action short film that gets nominated for an Oscar despite not being mostly dead serious? That's truly a rarity. "An Irish Goodbye" is a black-humored comedy about two brothers who reunite after the untimely death of their mother. The film is reasonably heartwarming. Unfortunately, the humor didn't really work for me most of the time. But I did occasionally chuckle. All in all, the whole thing is enjoyable enough.
