8/10 Beautiful movie about The Beautiful Game called football. The game that brings me personal joy every day of my life. Of course their are some things in a Netflix movie that don’t make sense, little mistakes blah blah blah. Like every Netflix movie ever made. But with a movie with a beautiful story like this it doesn’t bother me that much, you can look past those things and enjoy it. From now on: !!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!!! Only thing that really bothers me is that we haven’t seen Nathan in the end receiving his medal… The Japanese team was amazing, The joy they had seeing Rome was so amazing to see! Loved that nun from the South African team, so happy, so nice I love her! The hug between Aldar and the Italian guy was heartbreaking, here you can see what sports can do with people. Beautiful. That ref is blind btw

It's not perfect, it's overly long at times and it definitely could have been structured better. I'm not sure how factual this is or if it's completely fictional but the rules for the tournament seem to be in flux for whatever suits the writing. It's hard not to get annoyed at some of the things that happen throughout the tournament to further the plot. The film also spends too much time on a sub plot involving another team that while attempting to pay off in a nice moment, is rushed and feels inconsequential. 15 minutes that could have been spent on something else, or not in the film at all. Still there are far worse films you could watch.
