Whenever I find a 1980s slasher movie that I had never heard of, it's a sure bet that it is going to be garbage, and this was. This is as straight forward a slasher as you can get: a group of friends are at a creepy old house, and a masked killer picks them off one by one. Nothing new. The acting is pretty bad. The camera work, and dialog aren't great. There is way too much forced humor. If you like shirtless dudes, you're in for a treat, because this movie has lots of that. An odd part about _Evil Laugh_ is how self aware it is, which is really strange for the era it was made. There are obvious references to _Friday the 13th_, and _Halloween._ However, what's really weird is a death that is identical to one in _The Last House on the Left_, no, not the 1972 version... the remake from 2009. Are you telling me _Evil Laugh_ was influential? Another example is the character Barney - who is a proto Randy Meeks, from _Scream_; seriously, he basically plays out the "rules" scene from the original _Scream_. Anyway! The movie is a giant cliche, which wouldn't be so bad, if it took itself seriously. I absolutely hate humor in horror movies. Now, to be fair, the film does have some good moments. Trouble is, there are too many slasher movies that are much better, and this was 1986! Not exactly breaking new ground in the genre. Most of the kills are off screen. We only get three boobs - not counting all the hairy man boob. The ending was preposterous - tried to meta too close to the sun. May be the worst '80s slasher I have seen. If you like cheesy horror movies, you might dig it.
