I really loved this movie. In a lot of ways it reminded me of High Fidelity in that it addressed the difficulties that a man can having trying to move into adulthood. And as the movie progressed we came to see that nobody ever really feels like an adult - instead we must look at our aging faces in the mirror and the date on our birth certificate and infer that we are adults. I thought the movie addressed these themes in a subtle and very sweet manor. Elizabeth Olsen really steals the show as a "rough draft" of a teen that at first appears to be more adult than the adults. It was just a lovely movie to watch and I was sad when it ended. follow me at https://IHATEBadMovies.com or facebook IHATEBadMovies
This was my choice for my weekly swap with my friend Joe. We’ve done this for over 30 straight weeks now and show no signs of stopping. We’ll probably finish once one of us picks something so bad that we fire the other. I always tell Joe he’s on thin ice after his terrible movie choices. Anyways let me talk about this week’s movie choice. This kind of lacked any real emotion or passion for me. I never bought into the romance or relationship between the two leads. Josh Radnor just didn’t have very good chemistry with Elizabeth Olsen and maybe that was the idea. I just feel like Elizabeth Olsen is capable of having chemistry with a wall. She’s always extremely likable and is an excellent actress. I actually cared a lot about the friendship between Jesse and Dean. This definitely had some good moments but was too inconsistent for me. I think the direction of the movie was the right choice but I just didn’t really care enough. This was a decent enough one time watch but not much more than that. * Movie swapping with Joe
let me tell you why this one is amazing!! cause Jessy does the right thing, he doesn't act wrong with Elthabite and that's a beautiful point from the story. because we are talking about old-fashioned men, Honesty, bravery, and so on... and of course literature and his beauty. I love that the movie is still on the right road and ending.
This movie starts with a long segment of the lead actor randomly talking to the camera, then someone steals his laundry. I was really wondering when the point of the movie would start. It seemed like it wanted to waste all my time. I started fast-forwarding, just to keep myself entertained. I wonder what that man is going to do with the guy's laundry. I can only imagine he had a sexual fetish for used underwear.
takes entirely too long but there is redemption at the end i guess. the one scene i saw that brought me here (good art vs snobbery) was not was this was about.
