If reading Marguerite Duras is as boring as this movie, I'm doing the right thing not reading her. Here we have a recreated interview (based on transcribed notes) of Yann Andréa, the gay man who loved Duras's writing enough to live a sexual relationship with her in her later years. You have to love Marguerite Duras an unhealthy amount to be able to stay awake during these 90 minutes of someone else's mental masturbation.
[AtlàntidaFF '22] Although it starts with an interesting idea, it ends up absorbed by the film transcription of the interview with Yann Andréa, which nevertheless has that Claire Simon documentary style. But finally, between complaints of a love relationship that is almost submissive, more admiring than romantic, hiding homosexuality between Duras's skirts, it seems that we do not discover who the characters are, not even that absent writer who only manifests herself in controlling phone calls.
