While modest in budget, the cast carries this film with ease. David Oyelowo is especially compelling as a recently released convict struggling to adjust to life after prison. Crisp cinematography and an underlying sense of mystery keep the story engaging throughout, though a few more suspenseful moments could have elevated it to a higher tier. Even without reaching those heights, the film lands an emotional impact by the end—and for a mid-April release with minimal marketing outside of AMC Theatres, its exclusive distributor, that’s all you can ask for.
