It’s hard not to love something this weird, baffling, and bad, at least a little. It’s a misfire, but a misfire made so geniunely I was endeared. This felt like at different times a PS2 platformer cutscene, a direct to DVD B animated movie, and a Veggietales style sermon but about art and hipsters against the greedy normies. This was never going to be picked up. It’s a shock it got this far. But it’s strangely hypnotic, and Dennis Hopper as King Norman steals the show with a performance that swallows the scenery while and a song that’s hilariously shit. I think if this was a show and I ever had to sit through it I’d hate it. But as a doomed passion project and unintentional time castle of 2002, a part of me loves it.
