Anyone else suuuper frustrated with their lack of urgency during daylight? I wanted to scream. This movie has a weird pacing. 1 hour into it and the main characters have no idea that anything bad is happening, but then suddenly in the span of 2-3 minutes they jump straight to [spoiler]"vampires!"[/spoiler], no slow revelation or undeniable evidence needed. Kinda feels like half the movie was edited away? _(This movie is giving me the strangest sense of dejavu even though I've never seen the previous ones nor have I read the books)_

It was fine for the genre but so unoriginal that I don’t see the point.

I haven't seen or read any of the previous works so this is an all new universe for me. The premise had potencial, I like the idea of a town uniting to battle vampires but the execution is a miss. It's caught between trying to be serious and scary vs. trying to be a silly fun time (minus comedy) and I wish it picked a lane because those two work against each other. Average acting all around, cheesy dialogue, I hate the red eyes Instagram filter and the glowing crosses are ridiculous. Too many characters with too little development. It's somehow both too long/slow and rushed. The one minute of screen time Barlow got were the best, should have been way more present in the movie.
