The director takes a clear position from the beginning. For him, it is not about moralizing, but about adopting an ethical position. The decision to focus on the trial (including numerous archive images) ends up giving much of the film an overly sober, unnecessarily explanatory look. This sobriety contrasts with the part starring the family that brings the emotions of helplessness, loss and pain, but its effectiveness is staggered by interpretations that transmit emotion with difficulty, with a certain thick sensitivity.
