This movie could have been so much better, the cast is great and some of the plot points have so much potential but things just never get fleshed out. It is the definition of average and it could have been great.

Koreeda neither judges his characters nor does he sell their vulnerability, going as far as to obscure their emotions about to burst out into the open. Broken people build a family to be a little less broken. Endearing and tragic at the same time, Broker is perhaps the unadulterated form of forgiveness.

Slow Korean drama, seemed longer than it actually was, with a quite predictable development, without clear surprises. Not bad if you like the themes.

An amazingly touching and funny movie, hitting on themes generally left not discussed. Also see Shoplifters by the same writer/director.
