((When I made into University... Moriyama, my home-room teacher, congratulated me, saying "It was a miracle." But if it was a miracle, I want to call it a miracle of love!!)) According to 1998, I'll give it 10/10 The Intro was so fucking good!! It was simple. The movie was simple and amazing!! The feelings of fear, worrying, happiness, love... to challenge yourself to try something new, just to discover it! I totally love it
This is a film I definitely didn’t watch in the right mood, and I feel like that impacted my experience more than I’d like to admit. But even from the wrong headspace, I could still appreciate just how delicately crafted and emotionally tuned this movie is. The protagonist is someone I found myself almost cringing at at times, but in a weirdly beautiful way. It’s a testament to how well she’s portrayed, you’re not watching a polished character, you’re seeing someone real. This movie makes you feel things with the character, not just about them. It’s soft, hazy, and almost dreamlike, like leafing through distant memories or watching the past gently unfold in front of you. There’s a mellow, cozy aesthetic running through everything here. The camerawork is stunningly minimalistic but expressive, capturing this peaceful in-between space of loneliness, longing, and quiet hope. The vibe is nostalgic in the best way, not forced, just natural. A total time capsule. Narratively, it’s super minimal, and that’s either going to work for you or leave you wanting more. Personally, I just wasn’t in the right mindset. I wanted action or intensity, but this gives you stillness and introspection. I sort of forced myself into it because someone recommended it, and I wish I’d saved it for a time when I was more open to its quiet rhythm. That said, I really want to revisit it, I feel like I’d love it much more on a second viewing. It’s not a film that grabs you. It just exists, patiently, gently. But if you’re in the right headspace, I can imagine it really sticking with you.
