This might be the perfect late-night movie as it is just really fun action and pretty good acting, though the story is pretty bog-standard and that's alright considering the direction in this film is pretty solid from Boaz Yakin. The story revolves around a man that has lost everything and has to live a life on the streets to make sure he doesn't lose his life, but when a little girl who is trying to escape all of the different gangs in NY and also the please he finds redemption. Jason Statham (Luke Wright) is awesome in this film as he acts so well and a lot of people need to understand that he is actually a better actor than we think he is, also every fight sequence with him is perfect and I can only wish that one day he will be in a John Wick movie because he would fit in that universe perfectly. Also, Catherine Chan (Mei) is pretty good in this film and I believe her as this little girl who is almost a tortured genius. The film is filled to the top with action cliches, but as I said above it is the perfect late-night action film as you don't have to think much and it isn't overly long and this film knows what it is.

Cuts to the chase even with so many factions doing their own thing, with great action scenes on top of it. And there're not really many characters who are irritating, if any. Wish more movies are like this.

Safe is your typical Jason Statham movie, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The action scenes were all very well done but as for the story line; that kind of took a backseat in the film just like any other Statham film. The action scenes were enough for me to stay entertained throughout the film. Enjoy it for what it is and you'll have fun watching it.
