The Sitter wasn't laugh out loud funny, and it had a typical story line you would expect from a film like this. This is definitely not Jonah Hill's best movie. Though he does try in this film, it just wasn't good enough.
>"Respect it, don't neglect it. Treat it, don't beat it." I think this film is underrated for an adventure comedy. Jonah Hill takes on more serious roles now but this one had a good mix of jokes and trying to teach good lessons. Also, there are so many memorable quotes!
I liked this movie a lot. It was better than expected, considering when the movie was released "Noah" would always be playing the same sort of role. I like the whole idea of the baby-sitter being a young man in his early 20's, for things like this happened. It was refreshing and I'll probably watch it again once I'm stoned.
Not the best comedy movie but it was fun to watch
I’ve always been a sucker for Jonah Hill, and The Sitter is one of those movies that’s grown on me over time. When it first came out, I remember feeling pretty disappointed—it didn’t hit the highs of his best comedies and felt a bit formulaic. But on rewatch, it’s turned into a surprisingly enjoyable film. The humor is light and easy, the chaos plays well to Hill’s strengths, and there’s a feel-good streak underneath all the absurdity. It’s far from a top-tier comedy, but it’s the kind of movie that’s perfect for a lazy afternoon watch—fun, familiar, and funny enough to keep you smiling. Rating: 3/5 – 75% – Worth Watching
