I tried really hard to find All The Invisible Children, the anthology this belongs to, to no avail. I even got a copy from eBay… that was dubbed over into Spanish with no option for the original languages. So I threw in the towel and just watched this short. Was it worth the trouble? Not especially. The lead gives a great performance- Lee always knows how to write and direct kids- but Royo and Perez are left to be caricatures. Royo is asked to do his Wire role with all the nuance and subtlety of his Key and Peele guest spot, and the ending is all clumsy exposition. Not to mention the cloying music. This is an important topic, obviously, but this is less a story and more an after school special.
