A controversial, abusive and bizarre relationship between a teacher and a student is the central focus of the narrative. In addition, the film deals with drug use and AIDS at a time when treatment was still in its early stages. The teacher's obsession leads to limitless consequences, directly affecting his family. Although the development is uneven, with some poorly explored characters and very superficial moments, the film manages to make an impact by being disturbing on several levels, including its apathetic and almost colorless cinematography, creating a nauseating and very strange tone.
