My father loved to watch this movies because of his love for aviation. And you get some good flying scenes which is probably the main reason I watch this, too. The story is absolutely Hollywood and the Air Force setting is merely the canvas it is painted on. And I think they should add comedy to the genres. But, hey, If you like nostalgic Hollywood cinema there is nothing wrong with it.
