I'm trying to go through the entire _Annabelle/Conjuring_ franchise and this has been the weakest so far. Scary enough in places but so inconceivable and far-fetched that it was difficult to get through. Way too much teen drama for it to ever really count as a true "horror" movie; this was all about "Bob Has Hormones" and his lust for the cute babysitter. Completely stupid and - unlike some of the others (to date), this one had NO sense of "believability" to it. Tantamount to every "scary movie" spoof that you see, this was filled with _"Don't go in there!" "Don't open that door!" "Don't touch that!"_ scenes that were eyeroll-worthy. If, like me, your OCD insists - yea, DEMANDS - that you have to watch all of the movies to complete the franchise, then just make sure you have your smartphone handy so you can play a game, surf the web, or IM your friends while a huge part of this one is rolling.
Maybe the best part was the end credit visuals with Dancing In the Moonlight playing in the background. Movie was meh.
So full of cliches it's actually really funny. And also extremely boring.
It is definitely gonna be the best Horror Film of 2019. Some of the scenes really got me. Unlike the previous part (Annabelle: Creation) this one has more Horror Stock than laughing. I'll definitely recommend it!
I really hope that after this movie, it's over with the Annabelle spinoff series. Once again, all the characters act incomprehensible and stupid. There are far too many boring phases, and the titular doll is still not creepy except for its look. Apart from that, not much happens for a long time, until at the end everything culminates again in a movie-like ghost train ride that relies solely on ineffective jump scares. Meanwhile, those who hope that the Warrens will play a bigger role will be disappointed. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson don't make more than a small cameo appearance. The rest can't keep up, although at least Mckenna Grace and Madison Iseman don't do a completely bad job. In the end, however, "Annabelle Comes Home" amounts to little more than a tedious jump-scare fest.
