_L'Insoumis_ ('Rebel' in French) is a documentary which follows far left candidate Jean-Luc Melenchon during his unsuccessful bid to become French president in 2017. A minor candidate filmed by a documentary filmmaker who is also sympathetic to (or afraid of) the candidate gives this film the feel of a home movie about a distant uncle we neither know nor liked very much, yet still somehow we're forced to watch this holiday film from last year about his boring hike on the campaign trail.
