The raw, unsettling nature of this film is what makes it so memorable. I will probably remember it for the rest of my life. It expertly uses the found footage format to build tension, and I could feel my heartbeat getting faster and faster as the film went on. While the ending was incredibly hard to watch, it served the narrative effectively. Definitely one of the better found footage films out there, demonstrating the power of the subgenre when done right.

Like me all my life: it works. An excellent found footage (sorry to repeat myself) flick about a young woman who accidentally films the decline of her family. This has everything I love about the genre, believable story, strong acting, a narrative arc aided by the medium. Even better, it remains totally anchored in reality rather than relying on the supernatural to bring the horror.
