I liked this movie a lot more than I thought I would. I feared it would be a typical survival movie, one of those that tend to be long, drawn out and boring. Instead I was pleasantly surprised. The movie flows really well. Alternating between the two timelines, before and after the storm hit, is a great idea. Moving from drama to romance keeps the movie from becoming too heavy for too long. At the same times, it gives the audience the chance to get to know the protagonists in a natural way, avoiding cheesy and awkward lines. The two main actors were really great. I'd never seen a movie with Shailene Woodley before, but I have to say that she definitely has a lot of talent. Great performance, she really carried the whole film. Sam Claflin was also good. Even though he had less screentime than Shailene, he managed to perform a charismatic and believable character. The two of them had a nice chemistry, I hope to see them again in another movie. The cinematography was superb. I don't know if they used CGI or some practical effect, but it looked amazing. Also, a lot of interesting shots that captured the vastness of the ocean and its charm. In the end, it's a nice movie about human resilience, with nice storytelling and visuals. The story is nothing new but it is based on a true story and that makes it hit more. A nice mix of romance and drama. 8/10
I loved the "little" details at the start. The movie tells you right there that Richard is gone, but as you get entangled in the story, you forget that. You only realize slightly before Tami does. Gut-wrenching but brilliant. That's good storytelling to me
a sad story told in such a beautiful way. i like the concept of the timeline great chemistry between the actors. almost cried at the end but managed to not to.
Woodley and Claflin are left adrift by the weak and abbreviated script. I was never truly invested in the characters or their relationship, and so while I mean no disrespect to the real-life people on whom the story is based, I didn't care whether they lived or died in the movie.
_Adrift_ is a good movie that delivers a compelling survival story with a solid performance from its actors. However, the plot may seem familiar to those who have seen similar films in the genre lately. Despite this, the movie manages to keep you engaged and invested in the characters' journey. One of the highlights is the cinematography that captures the beauty and danger of the ocean. The film's visuals are impressive and effectively convey the sense of isolation and vulnerability that the characters face.
They insulted Bob Ross, so i will give this film An happy mistake/10
