A super twisty and enjoyably thrilling giallo. This film delivers everything you could want from a giallo. An intriguing mystery, powerful visual style, and a wonderful score. The incorporation of gothic elements to this film that makes it quite different than the others I've seen. It has enough twists and red herrings that it's basically impossible to guess what will happen next. Like any giallo, it always starts confusing at first but once that's all sorted out it's a really fun ride. Love the creepy legend at the beginning which gives the film a very haunting atmosphere. And of course, don't forget that fantastic hallucinatory dream sequence. This is definitely an entry I would recommend to anyone exploring the sub-genre.

This was fun! Standard stuff but hits all the right notes. Also, a young Sybil Danning!! So great to see her doing her thing so early in her career.
