Unlike the movies, the 2 DBZ specials actually put a bit more effort into their stories. This tells us the story of Trunks before he time travels to the past to help Goku. I thought this was very good, while there is plenty of action the bigger focus on the story this time makes it feel like a good change of pace. It isn't exactly original or a masterpiece but it definitely reels you in with all of the emotions that Trunks goes through. It had plenty of heartwarming and tearjerker moments, especially seeing how Trunks reacts to all of the destruction and losses. The moment that Trunks becomes a Super Saiyan is actually almost up there with the moment Gohan finally became Super Saiyan 2. The action scenes here are quite exciting thanks to the chaotic nature of the Androids, they act like spoiled brats that only fight to amuse themselves which makes their antics entertaining. No original villains this time, just Androids 17 and 18 from the future. I found them a lot more threatening and menacing here than they were in the series and probably a lot more brutal. Unfortunately due to the fact that this is only 48 minutes long I was actually left wanting to see more of Gohan and Trunks' brotherly student-teacher relationship. It really ends up leaving some parts feeling like they're rushed or abridged.
out of all the dbz movies I have seen which is not every single one this is by far the most will written most emotional movie out of then love the concept a world without Goku everything turns to s*** it's a simple story focused on Gohan and trucks
I almost 😢😭 in some scenes of this "📺 Special", but I simply couldn't do so for real as something that's so very fucking stupid about its version of the "English Dub" is that it has metal rock music that didn't even fitted in since being that it's a tragic story; then it should've been just like the original 🇯🇵ese one in having dramatic and energetic music.
