70s horror, save me. Bob's Clark earlier horror work was so interesting and otherwise impactful. wish there was more than just this, Black Christmas, and Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things. at least i have the latter yet to watch for the first time someday. a bit of a fever dream between the acting, made for TV feel of the presentation (while still having moments of heightened gore or yucky effects), and scattershot tone (somber, melancholic vibes characteristic of the decade's output with splashes of one liners???). some of Andy's outfits were cute lmao. going to be dog sitting the next two weekends so i'm hoping to actually sit down and do quite a bit of something whether it's reading, watching, listening to, or playing something instead of my typical "oh i just Sat there..." mess. i think this weekend i'm going to try to focus on some 2026/late 2025 cinema catch up?
Absolutely, loved this! Well done The stretch of the emotions of the family and friends there, man Poor people! Again very well done
Great premise, but the execution falls very short. In addition to the mediocre acting, a lot of the shots are just out of focus. This is ripe for a remake.
The concept is a bit outlandish, but once you buy into, it's a pretty effective, creepy little chiller. It was also one of the first movies to delve into the after-effects of the Vietnam War. The vampirism was a nice touch too.
