A sculptor, Igor is trapped in the flames that burn down his museum and destroy all his work. Twelve years later, he reopens his new wax museum but there's one reporter who's struck by the resemblance between a wax statue of Joan of Arc and the dead Joan Gale, whose body is missing from the morgue. She begins to dig some information hoping to find out the truth about the museum. A fun little film with impressive production and two-strip technicolor that gives it such a wonderfully creepy tone. Get a bit stuffy in the middle but it's very atmospheric and entertaining. I wasn't expecting the comedy but it manages to hit both notes really well. The protagonist lady infuses some fun energy to the film and she absolutely steals every scene she’s in. I've seen only 2 films with two-strip technicolor so far, this film and _Doctor X_, it's more fitting and overall looks better on this one.

Obviously dated, but I'm actually impressed with how well it held up. The ending marriage agreement was bizarre though.
