Really lovely, fun movie with a bit of social commentary thrown in. I adore the performances by the two leads, and I love Rene Clair's unique approach to musical film. Like Le Million before it, characters here sing throughout the movie without it becoming quite the like the musicals I'm more used to. I remember liking this movie when I saw it in college, and it definitely held up upon rewatch.
