I loved this movie. It made me cry and really touched me. Some might say it was sappy, but that is what makes it good for me. I love a good tear jerker.

its kinda predictable but enjoyable

Another memorable performance from Redgrave aside, this is a maudlin and sappy drama that never convinces. I'm sure the novel was better, but there are too many plot holes and weak character arcs in the film, meaning it doesn't engage the senses or the mind.
