Well the blurb is certainly right on this one. A rip -off, homage and pardoy to (mostly) spaghetti westerns and Vietnam war movies shot and set in Thailand. I rarely find this type of thing works. But I will give credit where its due and I can at least say that the makers of this certainly seem enthusiastic. And that enthusiasm may be reflected in the positive reviews I have seen for this. It's basically just fan fiction. And for me it didn't work at all. I found a lot of it irritating and reminded me of other filmmakers that get on my nerves a little. The colour scheme reminded me of Wes Anderson. The general feel brought to mind Nikos Nikolaidis and the musical element felt like Bollywood at its sentimental worst. Heap surrealism on top of that and you have the perfect recipe to irritate an audience. It does have a few good scenes. The action scenes. But maybe they are good only in contrast to the rest. They did have some great shots in them though and did very well to make them look bigger in scale than they were. A messy film that seems to have been made by the filmmakers for the filmmaker, not for any particular audience. I didn't hate it. But I was kind of glad when it finished. It's just not to my tastes. But I can see why it has developed a minor cult following. It's very inventive.
